Arran Aromatherapies

 Welcome to my website!

I want to invite you to try my treatments - each one is quite unique in a way that they can all be tailored around every individuals needs.

As some of you will know I've been a dental nurse for 33 years & as you can imagine I've experienced a lot of clinical treatments working with the public. While working in dental services for Ayrshire & Arran Health Board I qualified in Radiography, Oral Health Education & numerous other courses to keep up with the mandatory requirements of the job.

As time goes by I feel that I want to give more... but for myself, I want to be able to help people & see the benefits of what I've done when I've treated them. I have diplomas in Swedish massage at grade 8 accredited by the Napier University, Aromatherapy & Hot stone massage & the most up to date courses I've completed are Reflexology with The Complementary Therapy School and Oncology with The Glasgow School of Massage. Currently studying Clinical Sports Massage. I will continue to add to this portfolio with new courses & treatments with regards to what is trending as I'm very interested in how each different treatment can benefit people in different ways.

                               Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is the best known form of body work performed on the body. The primary goals are to relax the entire body and encourage circulation. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of the blood returning to the heart, there are many different techniques that are used with varied pressures. Swedish massage goes beyond relaxation, it is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, expelling muscle toxins & increasing flexibility while easing tension.

 Hot Stone Therapy

Hot stone therapy

This technique used by various ancient civilisations including China, India, Native American Indians and many others but was reintroduced into the modern world again in 1993 by Mary Nelson who was & still is a physiotherapist.

It works by using hot basalt stones on lightly oiled skin to access deeper into muscle tissue. This treatment can unlock & release stress that maybe trapped in the muscle which causes aches, pains & ailments.

           Reiki Healing

Reiki is a type of energy healing - it is a complementary therapy which is said to use the energies of the universe through the therapists palms of hands over and on the client in calming reassuring pressure.

Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or emotional stress, over time these energies become blocked causing illness. Reiki helps to unblock negative energies and improve the flow of energy around the body. It can enable deep relaxation, relief of pain and speeds up healing. It can be performed anywhere but mainly either  chair or therapy bed, the client can be fully clothed. The therapist with keep hands on position for up to 5/10 minutes depending on which areas are needing most attention.

            Reflexology

Reflexology is one of the most popular therapies in the UK, it is a non-invasive treatment which is performed on the feet (or the hands) it mirrors the body like a map of all the organs. It can relieve pain, encourage relaxation, create a wonderful sense of well being and feels sensational. The therapist may spend more time on areas that may need extra healing/help.
